The International Day of Zero Tolerance for female genital mutilation (FGM), observed annually on 6 February, provides an opportunity for all stakeholders involved in ending FGM to celebrate achievements, advocate for abandonment of the practice and raise awareness.
This year, with the theme Her Voice. Her Future. Investing in Survivor-Led Movements to End Female Genital Mutilation,there is a focus on survivors who are contributing to the global movement to end this harmful practice.
Speaking as a nurse and survivor of FGM, Catherine Chacha Menganyi of Kenya, shared her experiences and work and encourages others to join her to end FGM.
