We asked teachers to tell us what they plan on doing to celebrate the 100th Day of school, and the responses were so fun and creative, we had to share a fewwith you. If you need some inspiration, check out these fantastic ideas!
20 Real Teacher Ideas for 100th Day of School
Check out these real teacher tips for making this year’s 100th day of school memorable and exciting for all of your students:
- We make snack mix with 10 pieces of 10 different foods. We also play different games with items to make 100.
– Heather A. - We make a list as a class of 100 ways to be kind to others.. We spend the rest of the year crossing out the list as a class as we accomplish them.
– Jamie B. - We make necklaces with 100 fruit loops, wear 100 hats, and write about what we would like to have 100 of.
– Lindsay N. - Our kids bring in 100 small items. Paper clips, candies, etc. We have a 100 day museum.
– Cindy R. - We dress up like we have 100. We do 100th day STEM math rotations. Students get to rotate through 10 stations, like 100 Legos, 100 piece puzzle, 100 pipe cleaners, 100 dominoes, and see what they can create with the item. We also do a 100th day kindness challenge. Students take a pack of smarties and a pencil into the cafeteria during different grade’s times and they must give it to someone they don’t know and tell them Happy 100th Day!
– Jessica S. - Two of the many things we do are: I have them estimate and write down how far they think 100 steps will get them from the classroom door. Then we walk the 100 steps and talk about their estimates. We draw and color pictures of what they think they would look like at 100 years old. Then they crumple up the paper and make it wrinkly. They love it!
– Jan E. - I ask each family to bring in 100 things (100 checkers for example) of their choosing. Then we discuss how heavy and light the same amount of items in each collection are. I also do some fun snacks (wafer cookies with two round cookies to make a 100).
– Michele E. - 100 topping pizzas. (the pizzas are pretend.) Students roll a die. Each number corresponds with a different topping. After they’ve rolled 100 times, they glue on their toppings, count them, and graph them.
– Kendall A. - One of my favorite days!! My favorite activity is hiding 100 number circles around the room and having a scavenger hunt to find them and put them on a 100’s chart.
– Lori H. - 100th day tower with red solo cups, write a story with 100 words, graphing to 100, doing 100 different exercises, rolling dice to 100, writing to 100, counting shapes, and having a blast.
– Elyse H. - We make art projects using 100 objects.
– Rosa G. - We make 100 student long chains on the playground.
– Jill S. - We start early, asking families and friends to send us mail from around the world so we can get 100 pieces of mail by the 100th day of school. We mark all of the mail on a map and graph where the most and least mail came from. The kids love to read the mail every day, and it’s my favorite activity every year.
– Michele M. - We put out 100 footprints in the hallway. I usually blow up 100 balloons and let the students pop them in the hallway, very fun to watch.
– Sally K. - Our whole grade level dresses like they are 100 years old. My class does a scavenger hunt for 100 items I hide around my room. We make a list of 100 words that we know how to spell. We also write 100 things we love about our school.
– Audrielle E. - Going to try something with my art classes. I have 9 classes for 30 minutes on that day. To celebrate the 100th day, I’m going to let them be creative with 100 Lego bricks and 100 piece puzzles. Kind of like a 2D vs 3D activity.
– Terrena C. - We see what we can do in 100 seconds ( like jumping jacks, multiplication problems, write as many spelling words, say the alphabet how many times). Then switch it around by how long it takes to do something 100 times.
– Gloria A. - We will be making capes with one hundred items. We will do stations with one hundred themes all morning! I think I am as excited as the kiddos. Throughout the day we will stop and count to one hundred. We decided we would do one toe touches. So we will do them ten touches at a time.
– Mary E. - We start the morning out in the gym work K-12th grade doing 100 exercises. Then each teacher does a few of their own things with their class in the morning and after lunch the kids rotate around the different classrooms doing various 100th day activities such as building something with 100 paper cups, weighing 100 of various items, making an edible 100th creation. Our kids absolutely love this day. We even have parents volunteering to come in and help.
– Barbara M. - I do a 100 day award show!! I have a red carpet ( construction paper ) and treats at tables… all students are given an award for something they have improved in for the past 100 days… I make a little microphone and each give an acceptance speech and what their goal is for the remainder of the year…
