How to Make Pizza Tater Tot Casserole in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
We have been loving tater tot casseroles lately! Why do we love them? Because they are absolutely delicious! This Slow Cooker Pizza Tater Tot Casserole is no different! So yummy!
This is a great recipe to customize to your family. If you love olives or onions or peppers or mushrooms or sausage, add them in! If you don’t like something, leave them out. Are you cheese lovers? Add in some more cheese!
Also, if you have a small family, you can make this recipe as it is written. I was making quite a few recipes when I made this, so I didn’t want a ton of servings. The pound of ground beef, along with all your other pizza toppings and the tater tots, give you a filling meal for four! If you are a family of 1 or 2, don’t worry! You can have leftovers without having a ton of leftover!
However, if you have a larger family or want to take this to a potluck, you can easily double this recipe and put it in a casserole crock pot or 6 quart crock pot. Make sure you watch it closely the first time you make it to adjust the cooking time as needed.
With how simple this recipe is to throw together, you can put it together quickly and dinner is ready in just a couple hours! That’s incredibly fast for a crock pot recipe. I highly recommend you do not skip the broiler step. It just takes it to the next level!

Can I cook this in the casserole crock pot?
Can you use a plant base meat alternative, like Impossible Burger?Reply

I haven’t tried this recipe in the casserole crock or with a plant base meat alternative. I think both could work. Your tater tots will be more spread out if you use a casserole crock. Make sure you watch it closely to make adjustments to the timing as needed since you will be changing a couple things. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
